Social Networking: Plan or Die
  • If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail”.

Often times planning is the most tedious, yet essential part of caring for any project. The importance of planning extends to social networking. How many times have you sat down at the computer with the intent to get some serious work done but you are side tracked by friend updates, news streams and loads of random information. Unfortunately, this is all a part of bad planning and being cursed with short attention spans.

Here are just a few things to do so that your social networking experience is fruitful.

-BE Focused: If you plan to go on twitter to promote your project do just that. Being side tracked can disrupt your mission. Set an objective and give yourself time to meet your set objectives.

-Set Goals: How many people do you intend to reach? How many friends would you like to add per day, week or month? Think about your social networking objectives and create solid goals around those objectives.

-Time: Again, your times wisely!!! If you set a goal to reach 50 new friends in a day then you cannot waste 5 hours looking at your high school friends photo ops on Facebook. Use your times wisely by doing exactly what you set out to do. Anything else can and will distract you from your social networking goals.

-Be Creative: Are you selling what they are selling? If so, I’ll have something different. Don’t blast out basic fliers like all the other Joe’s out there. Try some new techniques that interest more people than you, your mom and your crew.

I hope this helps! Happy Social Networking
